Aquatis

A fun indoor attraction for a rainy day and any toddler who loves animals.

Plenty of fish to see and maybe even a cheeky monkey or two.

Plus it's open all year round!

I first went with J when he was less than a year old and not walking yet. So he mostly stayed in the pushchair or we carried him to show him the animals. He was still able to enjoy it though and was especially mesmerized by the tunnel walkthrough with all the fish swimming above head. Another favorite were the cute little meerkats. I think it's nice for it being an aquarium that they have other animals too and not just fish.

They also have a tropical zone with different types of fish and frogs that would live in more of a tropical climate. Upon first entry it is a nice change to feel some heat, especially in the winter months. But a little word of warning, it does get extremely warm in there if you stay in for a while and I had to remove all layers that I possibly could, it got a little bit uncomfortable actually. So I would just watch out for overly dressed babies or toddlers in that area as they would get quite hot quite quickly!

Little J's highlight was something that is found in that tropical zone as they have some monkeys! We spent quite a bit of time looking at them and watching them play. J at the time of our first visit couldn't really talk yet and named animals by the sound they make, so he loved the "Ooh ooh ahh ahh's" ! haha!
